Gift Aid

Gift Aid - What is it?

  • Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to charity. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give to a charity they will receive an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue.
  • Gift Aid is available to charitable attractions that accept donations from visitors who are UK tax payers. Eligible organisations that are participating in the Gift Aid scheme will display the Gift Aid logo.

Gift Aid – How does it work?

  • Gift Aid applies to charitable donations of any amount.
  • If you are a UK taxpayer, all you have to do is give the charity a simple Gift Aid declaration. This involves providing your full name, address and postcode.
  • If you are not resident in the UK for tax purposes you are not eligible for Gift Aid.
  • Higher rate taxpayers can also reclaim tax from any charitable donations made by including details on their tax form.

Gift Aid - How will it affect my visit to the Centre?

  • As a visitor to the Centre for Life your Gift Aid donation means a lot. For example, the ticket price of £6.95 is made up of a £6.30 admission charge and a small of donation of 65p but, even after VAT, it is worth £7.96 to the charity if you Gift Aid it therefore your support is making a huge difference!
  • You can make your Gift Aid declaration at the admission desk when you pay.
