Inside DNA
Girl or Boy? Innocent or Guilty? High risk or Healthy?
A little DNA can make a big difference.
Inside DNA is a unique interactive exhibition exploring contemporary human genetics.

Inside DNA is an exciting new exhibition that helps make the invisible visible, allowing students to explore the fascinating field of human genetics and its impact on our lives – including our evolution, our health and our identity. Students will examine real DNA, explore the effects of variation and test and compare themselves with other visitors. Real-life scenarios, including genetic testing and DNA databases, encourage students to engage with the ethical issues surrounding this fast-moving area of scientific research.
Workshops
Supporting lab and debate activities covering PCR, DNA fingerprinting, gel electrophoresis, genetic counseling, genetic engineering, Karyotyping, malaria and sickle cell anaemia are available for pre-booked groups ‘Meet the Mighty Gene Machine’, a short humorous play that leads into an active ethical discussion, can also be pre-booked.
